We'd like to introduce you to a true Chicago native. South Water Kitchen is a Midwestern son born on the southern banks of the Chicago River. Here you'll enjoy the comforting appeal of a friendly restaurant and relaxed tavern that casually caters to Loop locals and visitors alike. Outside, Chicago's streets bustle with a vibrancy that is distinctly Windy City. Inside South Water Kitchen, theatergoers, business folks and out-of-towners settle in and enjoy Executive Chef Roger Waysok's sumptuous creations. These are menus that don't require a foreign language degree, but do require a hearty appetite and the desire for truly delicious dishes. Several specials add to the appeal, including $5 and $6 sides and three-course Prix Fixe lunch ($22) and dinner ($35) menus that are sought after by the office set, the theater set and our many out of town guests. The Tavern, too, serves up a creative array of crafted cocktails, beers, wine, Downtown Dogs and other informal edibles.
